10 Things That Don't Determine Your Self Worth

“Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are.” Marilyn Monroe Do you ever feel like you're not good enough?  How do you know if you're using the wrong yardstick to determine your self worth? Simple. Your value doesn't decrease based on your or someone else's inability to see your worth. Here's 10 Sticks we are all guilty of; 10 Sticks that's Don't Determine Your Self-Worth 1. Your Age Age is just a number. This is something you have to constantly remind yourself. You're not too old and it's not too late to be who you want to be. Most times, we tie our age to an almighty achievement and when we fall short of reaching this yardstick our self worth starts to depreciate. A classic example is African women and getting married by age 30. Your age is not equal to your self value. Tenks. 2. Money (That You Don't have) Yes, the society already places value on your social status. You don't have to feel less than enough just ...

Dear butterfly,

Dear little black butterfly, You will grow and you will learn. You'll lose just so you can try harder at winning You'll fail just so you can learn to appreciate success People will hurt you just so that you can be more careful Someone will break your heart just so you learn to never take love for granted And when it feels like you're dying Remember, you're only transitioning. Treasure A.A. At some point in your life, you'll feel pain. The pain is necessary because only then can you know what it means to heal. You will experience so much pain that you feel like giving up, but remember little birdie, it's all in the metamorphosis. The most beautiful fruits are birthed from pain. Or at least you were.

Yay! A domain name

I decided to start a blog to document my experiences, hoping that someone out there would relate, and understand that they are not alone with their fears and pressures of adulthood. I hope to motivate people to keep pushing forward despite the odds, and I hope that on Monday morning, you read a page of this blog and get your behind to work or school or wherever you got to be, to live in your present phase of life.  "Tee, your site is ready!" I was ecstatic. My friends were excited for me. Everything was awesome. The day was bright. So, with a big grin on my face, phone in hand, I stared hard at the blank MS document hoping the words would write themselves.  Eight hours after my blog was published, I was almost going crazy thinking of a "FIRST BLOG POST". I turned the internet upside down, contemplated deleting the site and just going back to normal. Until I realized something; I am allowed to make mistakes, and it doesn't have to be perfect. Hi, my n...

2020 In a Blur

Wow! Amazing right? If you're visiting for the first time, welcome! I get excited. If you've been here before, you got lost and found yourself here, you were stalking Treasure Abaa and landed here. Well, I don't know what to say, welcome! It's funny really, I googled my name and this blog came up. I just had to download the blogger app to continue this rollercoaster experience. It's like an online journal, very cringe worthy but it reminds me of my journey. So, I'm taking a minute out of my very busy life (anyone believe that?) to make this post. Writing never bothered me anyway. Warning: Info dump  When I started tho blog, I was dealing with anxiety. I didn't know anyone my age around me who had that, the little I knew about it was from my mum's psychology textbooks and the inanet (Cardi is a sensation these days). I'm all good now (big fat lie) and yunno, all grown and mature and omll I'm even allowed to have a boyfriend now! So muc...

Today on Anxiety

I was always teetering. I was always afraid. What if i couldn't take it anymore What if i just couldn't The darkness that pulled me in was mostly faceless. But sometimes it was the social media. Sometimes it was boys. Or my parents. Or a friend. Or anxiety. I have always lived so close to the edge One day, i just might slip and fall Or maybe I would pull through one more time. Maybe I'll find the strength inside. I envision my lungs bursting with joy, knocking down the darkness.

A random poem

I want to talk about it But its stuck. Maybe if i found the right person... But i fear i never would The darkness is like a stain on my soul Attacking and Defiling. ----------+ I think perhaps I will always hold a candle for you – even until it burns my hand. And when the light has long since gone …. I will be there in the darkness holding what remains, quite simply because I cannot let go. Ranata Suzuki It’s times like this…. when it’s over a year later and I’m still crying over you that I want to turn to you and say: See…. This is why I asked you never to kiss me. Ranata Suzuki I believe in love at first sight… But it’s not the first moment you lay eyes on a person, it’s the moment you first see the person they truly are. Ranata Suzuki

My 2018 Story

This year, I was afraid  My safe zone got breeched and fear almost crippled me. This year, I was sick and my heart bleed out. I became adamant to love and my heart couldn't conceive the concept of forgiveness. This year, I felt alone and I wet my pillows at night. Actually, The world broke me and i became a walking shell of the girl i used to be. Look how easy it is to spell out what i could tag my curses. Please, lets back up a bit. When I got abducted, I wasn't touched. Not harmed. The word of God which says touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm, which says people that mean to curse us will bless us; it came alive! Honestly, it was a miracle. The sickness didn't kill me, and believe it or not but my heart still beats in my chest. God commanded to love everyone, and if you don't forgive you're walking into your damnation. It was hard but I tried and I did. So, you can too. This year I listened to Apostle Joshua Selma teach on Favour a...

How to make your school bag event worthy

How to make your school bag event worthy! Backpack lovers like me always want to wear a school bag to events, but how to rock it! Hand bags are not really my thing; they are too expensive and things I cannot afford hold little or no appeal to me. XD Shop for the pretiest tiniest leather school bags in the market, and it becomes easier to pair them! See how I paired my brown leather school bag with my brown suede lace up heel? Goodnews is if you have a short gown, you can pair them with pretty flats too! My anti reflexive (or is it photo chronic) glasses makes everything prettier!  Remember that when taking a picture outdoors, the sun is your bestfriend!  So, go rock that school bag at that event! It's totally normal. ;) P.s: I screenshoted this picture from a video I took and edited the mousetrap outta it. I'm awesome right. bye sassy girls!
